I started this business way back 2005 but to no success. My classmates, neighbors and my teachers were my customers. Unfortunately, some of my clients dropped out or did not enroll for the next semester, so bad debts accumulated and were never paid. Because of this, I swore that I would never enter this kind of business again.
For me, dealing a product is like persuading others to buy them whether its good or bad. You must have that charisma to be able to sell them. A brochure or catalogue gives information about the products to make them more appealing and this is also a form of advertisement. Capital is also a key for you to be able to survive. Most of the time, whenever my customers are unable to pay, I was the one who shoulders the payment. In chavacano, every time they hear the word AVON, it means AVONA (shoulder the payment so that the due will be paid on time). So with all means, I have to pay the debts. With a very little income and I was a very poor student at that time, could not cover-up. Hence, the sad part, BANKRUPTCY.
Years later, I worked and forgot about dealership. I thought I won't be able to sell them. Until 2011, my co-worker Harry Ybonna approached me and started to recruit me in Personal Collection. I hesitated at first because I remembered my experience in this kind of business from the past. But he insisted and eventually I gave in. He recruited me but I was not that eager. I felt disinterested at first. After paying 150 pesos as membership fee and purchasing my first order worth 1000pesos which is payable for 22 days, I told Harry that I will give it a try. That night, I begin selling those household products to my co-employee and friends. Once again, the feeling of excitement rushed in. My entrepreneurial skills was awaken once again. I reorder worth 5000pesos of PC products on my first week and finished selling them within 24 hours. How amazing!
From PC, I joined again Natasha (http://www.natasha.ph/about.asp) which is I became a Fashion Pro and earning a bit higher than a member, MSE(http://mse.com.ph/) Boardwalk (http://www.boardwalk.com.ph/index.html) as Junior Marketing Consultant and Tupperware (http://tupperwarebrands.com/) On the other hand, my partner became part of Avon (http://www.avon.com.ph/PRSuite/home_page.page) Currently, he is now a Unit Manager with 23 Franchise Dealers under him. For 9 months, I am surprised that I came this far. It was just a try though but with perseverance, honesty, paying on time with my dues and prioritizing your customers are just few of the things a dealer must always show and do. Its a very good part time business as well as full time if you want. Just be patient with your customers and as much as possible, prioritize and make the collection 100% efficiency rate.

Our first trip together
My partner and I have been together for a total of 13 years already. For the longest time, this would be our first time to visit other places TOGETHER. Although, I experienced travelling when I was still in my college years due to seminars, congresses, which is I was one of the delegates. Furthermore, I also visited various cities and famous spots like Baguio City, Tagaytay, Laguna, Cavite, Iloilo, Boracay, Dumaguete, Bacolod, Davao, Pagadian, Dipolog, Dapitan and Lanao Well, my partner, on the other hand, has not ridden air planes nor boats all through out his life while I lived in Manila for 10 years but transferred here in Zamboanga City when I was still in elementary.
We decided (OOps, I made the decision myself and revealed to him later) that we must travel at least once a year just to unwind, relax and chill for a few days. Since we are still young, why not explore our country and see the beautiful spots and once we're done, try overseas. Budget plays an important role so you must really pay attention to it.
The one place that we are eying is Cebu City. I have heard so many positive feedbacks about this place. Ever since, I am very fascinated about its history. It was truly awesome to learn the birthplace of Christianity in the Philippines. Thus, last January 2012, we booked our first flight to Cebu on March 23 - 27, 2012. 5D/4N. For only P 2,982.00 round trip ticket for 2 from Zamboanga to Cebu via Air Philippines. Not bad. and its cheap.
I will post later our actual Cebu itinerary probably on April after Holy Week.
See you again and Happy reading!
